Leading  by a goal in the first half Central Coast scored four more in the second half to ensure they will go top in the opening matches of the new season. 

Second half substitute Clifford Fafale scored a hat trick in the second half and is leading the golden boot now.

 Southern United FC got off to a strong opening win over newcomers  Ghupo FC in their opening match of the new S League 2025 season.

An opening goal in the 21st minute by Brian Feni saw Southern United took a well deserved lead in the fast half. They continued with the momentum in the second half with Richard Tofu'una scoring a brace in the 49th and 64th minutes to go into a 3  goal lead.

However Ghupo FC did not give up the fight and Jeff Teika scored  a goal for the boys from Rennel and Bellona in the 85th minute.

But Southern United held on to their lead to come up with maximum points.

 Waneagu FC fell to an opening day defeat to the returning Malaita Kingz football Club.

Coached by one of the country's popular footballer Bartram Suri, Waneagu could not handled a fresh and returning Malaita Kingz.

 Dickson Magi opened the scoring for Malaita Kingz in the 17 min before Adrian Abae grabbed a brace in the second half in the 55 and 76 minute of the match.
